WHAT A TEAM!
During the Spring Break our team of 14 delivered hard work and important rebuilding contributions in response to the needs of Lumberton, NC, residents who had been hard hit by the October 2016 Hurricane Matthew. Well done!
Each of us knows personally and has experienced a personal problem or, more broadly a national disappointment, distress, disease or worse, a disaster. As a result we may better empathize or enter into one another's feelings of upset, disorientation or disequilibrium. Indeed, at the moment the world, our corner of the world, may seem to have tilted precariously. That seems like... now!
We say, "seem", because our human perspective is limited. In times like any of the uncertainties or upheavals suggested above we reach out for something/someone to hold on to, a rock of safety, a refuge and place of security. We don't need simply good advice or a sensible proposal; we cry out for things to be absolutely right and permanently peaceful - for all!
We with International Students, Inc. in the Durham area are here for you -
to listen, compassionately we hope; to help if we are able; to come alongside you. We ourselves are regularly seeking to grow our confidence that the Living One, the LORD, is God over all - good, wise, compassionate, sovereign... a description defies a fully adequate completion of the sentence.
